Partnerships
Recycle Rewards is designed to complement existing council recycling services by increasing household participation, reducing contamination, and delivering measurable engagement data.
Recycle Rewards partners with UK local authorities to support resident engagement and local sustainability objectives. The platform gives participating residents a simple, rewarding way to record recycling activity, learn local recycling rules and build better recycling habits.
Recycle Rewards does not replace council waste and recycling collections. It aims to improve resident engagement with existing services.
Residents earn rewards for correct recycling, encouraging sustained behaviour change.
The platform maintains council-specific recycling guidance for every participating area, helping residents understand what can and cannot be recycled kerbside.
Councils can access aggregated pilot data on participating households, recorded recycling activity, materials logged and verification or contamination flags.
AI-assisted checks and council-specific rules can help residents identify incorrect items before disposal, supporting cleaner recycling behaviour.
Councils can run targeted recycling challenges for participating residents, using CO₂ Impact Points, community goals and sponsor- or council-funded rewards to encourage positive behaviour. Challenges can focus on local priorities such as food waste, correct material sorting or sustained participation. Council pilots do not require residents to pay an individual competition entry fee.
Recycle Rewards is currently in a UK pilot programme. We are actively seeking council partnerships to expand local coverage and improve the quality of our local recycling rules data.
